Ra Joy of Arts Alliance Illinois has invited Members, Forum Partners, Associate Members, and friends of Donors Forum to join in a free conference call, New Federal Funding Streams for Sustainable Communities: Guide for Arts and Cultural Organizations. This will take place on Tuesday, July at 2:30 p.m.
The call, sponsored by
The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, a Donors Forum Member, will discuss the recently unveiled $100 million grant program funded by the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and endorsed by the
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), designed to create more livable communities nationwide. The call will explore the possibilities for grant applications
(due August 23) by arts organizations and it will also cover challenges and opportunities associated with cross-sector arts collaborations. It will feature:
- Tom Borrup, principal, Creative Community Builders, and author of The Creative Community Builders' Handbook,
- Dan Lurie, Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary, HUD,
- Alaka Wali, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Cultural Understanding and Change, Field Museum of Natural History, and
- Cheryl Yuen, a cultural development and arts management consultant.
