Allison studies and writes about the intersection of social media and social change. She is the author of the award-winning book Momentum: Igniting Social Change in the Connected Age (Wiley & Sons, 2006). Her new book, The Networked Nonprofit, co-authored with Beth Kanter, was published by Wiley & Sons in 2010.
She is a Senior Fellow on the Democracy Team at Demos: A Network for Change and Action in New York City. She was commissioned by the Case Foundation to write a paper on young people and activism called Social Citizensbeta. She has also edited a collection of essays, Rebooting America, about ways to reinvent democracy using new media. Allison hosts a monthly podcast for the Chronicle of Philanthropy called Social Good and writes her own blog, A. Fine Blog.
